Customer Challenge
Existing ballun core made gluing of core to substrate critical as volatile binders from the glue went into the porous core material and made adhesion poor.
Existing ballun design was to big for new customer hybrid package and contamination from the soldering process made following goldwire bonding process difficult and critical.
Flux solution
Design and procurement of custom core with smaller size, correct electrical properties and coated with parylene. Change of traditional copper wire to gold plated copper wire made it possible to change soldering process to conductive glue process removing all contamination of the hybrid.
